Large-white

Regarding reproduction, this is a hyper-fertile, hyper-prolific breed with a convenient maternal aptitude and behaviour (excellent temperament, feeding ability, etc.). These traits make Large White highly interesting as pure breed and also for crossings as maternal line.
It is used in hybridization programmes resulting in lines with a higher percentage of lean meat in canal. It is mainly used for crossings as maternal line, representing the main genetic base used in Spanish farms. This breed offers a high feed efficiency score and fine quality meat.
